        2-cell embryos are in the oviduct

Embryos are 4-cell at the start of the week, and 64-cell by the end of the week

January 19 - 25
Implantation of embryos in the uterus occurs

    January 26 - February 1
        Development of eyes and spinal cords
        Faces begin to take shape
        Fetus growth increases rapidly
        Organogenesis begins
        Palpation may be possible
        Ultrasound for pregnancy verification possible after Jan 28

   February 2 - 8
        Development of toes, whisker buds and claws
        Fetuses begin to look like dogs!
        Gender can be determined
        Eyes, which were previously open, now close
        Rapid growth continues
        Organogenesis ends

      February 5 update! Kokanee's starting to "show!" We're seeing little changes in her normally fit figure, and she thinks that her meals' size and frequency should definitely be increased! Luckily, she passed the typical "morning sickness" period without a hitch or any skipped meals. Hopefully we breeze through the rest of the term just as easily!

        Fetal heartbeats can be heard with stethoscope

February 16 - 22
Growth and development continues

    February 23 - 29
        Fetal movements may be detected when Kokanee is at rest
        Puppies can safely be born
        Radiographs for head count after Feb 28

   March 1 - 7/8
        Delivery is imminent!
        Kokanee's due date is March 6, +/- 2 days!!
